Streuli Sales, Inc. (SSI) warrants, subject to the conditions below, that each stile and rail door sold by SSI shall comply with NWWDA Industry Standard I.S. 6-91 Series, as amended from time to time, when such door is manufactured and shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from the date of manufacture by SSI. SSI further warrants, for such ten(10) year period, its guaranteed panels against splitting through the entire panel due to ordinary weather conditions.
Should a SSI stile and rail door fail to conform to this written warranty, SSI will, at its option, either repair the door, ship a replacement door to the distributor or person making the warranty claim in the same condition of fitting or finishing as the door which SSI originally sold to the distributor, or refund the original purchase price paid to SSI for the door. IN NO EVENT SHALL SSI PAY FOR THE COST OF LABOR, INSTALLATION OR FINISHING OF THE REPLACEMENT OR ORIGINAL DOOR OR FOR ANY OTHER COST RELATING TO THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DOOR, ALL OF WHICH SHALL BE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PERSON MAKING THE WARRANTY CLAIM.
Should a guaranteed panel split through, SSI will ship a replacement door and will reimburse the reasonable cost, not to exceed a maximum of $150.00, for finishing and hanging the replacement door to a fit and finish similar to the door replaced. This offer to reimburse the cost of finishing and hanging the door is VOID of any jurisdiction where SSI would have to comply with statutes or regulations governing insurers in order to legally make such payment.
THE FOLLOWING SHALL NOT BE CONSIDERED DEFECTS IN MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP AND ARE NOT COVERED BY THIS LIMITED WARRANTY:
- Failure to follow the Finishing Instructions will void the warranty.
- Warp for any 3' 6" wide by 7' high, or larger door, shall not exceed one-fourth inch in the plane of the door itself. Doors wider and/or higher are not warranted against warp;
- Bow or nonalignment in the frame or jamb in which the door is hung;
- Variations or unsatisfactory results in gloss level, texture or appearance resulting from the field application of paint or any other finishing material;
- Natural variations in the color of texture of the wood;
- Damage caused beyond the control of SSI, including but not limited to damage caused by misuse, abuse, accident or mishandling or by fire, flood, earthquake, storm, tornado, or other acts of nature;
- Damage caused by failure to comply with the Care, Handling or Finishing Instructions provided by SSI, failure to perform normal homeowner maintenance, or by attempts other than by SSI to repair the door;
- Surface grain separation or “checking” of Guaranteed Panels.
If the claimed nonconformity is warp, SSI may defer repairing or replacing the product for a period up to twelve (12) months from the date of claim or the date when the product was installed, as it is not uncommon for a temporary warp condition to occur as the door adjusts to local humidity and temperature conditions. This deferral will not be counted against the ten (10) year period of this warranty and prior to the beginning of any repair work to: Streuli Sales, Inc., 8221 Tyner Road, Greensboro, NC 27235. Claims should detail the date and location of purchase, the nature of the problem, and the name, address and telephone number of the person making the warranty claim. SSI reserves the right and must be given at least a thirty (30) day opportunity to have any door, which is the subject of a warranty claim, field inspected by a SSI representative. This limited warranty extends only to the original purchaser of the structure into which such door is installed.
- High temperatures (due to direct sunlight develop) in the space created by using a storm door. This excessive heat can cause the panels to split. Thus storm doors are not recommended and will void the warranty for split panels.
- Dark colored paints will cause excessive heat build-up within the door. Avoid dark colored paints in situations of direct sunlight. This situation can cause the panels to crack and void the warranty.
- Damage caused by installing a wood door without adequate overhang protection. Installing a wood door in prolonged direct sunlight.
Important: Projection of Overhang must be equal to or greater than 1/2 of the Height of Overhang to provide adequate protection for the door. Lack of proper overhang voids warranty.
If the claimed nonconformity is warps, SSI may defer repairing or replacing the product for a period up to twelve (12) months from the date of claim or the date when the product was installed, as it is not uncommon for a temporary warp condition to occur as the door adjusts to local humidity and temperature conditions. This deferral will not be counted against the ten (10) year warranty period.
Claims under this Limited Warranty must be made in writing within the ten (10) year period of this warranty and prior to the beginning of any repair work to: Streuli Sales, Inc., P.O. Box 430, Colfax, NC 27235. Claims should detail the date and location of purchase, the nature of the problem, and the name, address and telephone number of the person making the warranty claim. SSI reserves the right and must be given at least a thirty (30) day opportunity to have any door, which is the subject of a warranty claim, field inspected by a SSI representative. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY EXTENDS ONLY TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER OF THE STRUCTURE INTO WHICH SUCH DOOR IS INSTALLED.
Limitation and Exclusions
THIS WARRANTY SETS FORTH STREULI SALES, INC. MAXIMUM LIABILITY FOR ITS DOORS. SSI MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WITH RESPECT TO ITS DOORS EXCEPT AS IT IS SET FORTH ABOVE. NO DISTRIBUTOR, DEALER OR SSI REPRESENTATIVE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO CHANGE OR MODIFY THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. IN NO INSTANCE SHALL SSI BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of implied warranties or incidental or consequential damages, so the limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. IN SUCH CASE, THE DURATION OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY SHALL BE THE SAME AS THAT OF THE EXPRESSED WARRANTY STATED HEREIN.
This warranty is effective for all products manufactured or sold after August 18, 2000.
